The Alumen Ordering Process

What Happens Before Your Order Begins

A custom order follows the same four steps every time, and you approve the details in writing before anything is made. Stocked sizes skip most of them.

Custom Orders, Step by Step

01

Configure and price

Price your opening in the configurator, or send a photo, sketch or plans and we price it for you. The quotation lists the products, glass, finish, price, payment schedule, delivery and what is not included.

02

Approve the drawings

Shop drawings show dimensions, panel handing, hardware, glass and color. You approve them in writing. Changes after approval can affect price and timing.

Gate · written approval of final specifications
03

Place the order

For homeowners: 50% at order and 50% before shipment. Production starts once the deposit clears.

04

Pickup or delivery

Custom orders arrive 8 to 12 weeks after your deposit clears: about 4 to 6 weeks to build and 4 to 6 to ship. Your quotation confirms the date. Check every unit when it arrives and note any damage before signing.

Working back from a move-in or framing date? Enter it and we count back to the day your deposit has to clear.

Approval gate

Your Approval Comes First

An accepted quote and a deposit start the paperwork. Nothing goes into production until you have approved the shop drawings and the deposit has cleared.

Payment, Timing and Installation

Custom units are built to your dimensions and cannot be cancelled once released to production, so a deposit is due at order. The schedule above is in writing on your quotation.

A rush order takes about six weeks and costs more. Ask for the number.

Not unless it is on your quote. If you need an installer, ask and we will introduce you to one we have worked with.

Photograph it, note it on the delivery receipt, and contact us with your order number. Remedies follow your signed agreement and the product warranty.

No Surprises After You Sign

If something on the quote is unclear, ask before you approve it.
